This week’s Booking Through Thursday asks:
Who’s your favorite author that other people are NOT reading? The one you want to evangelize for, the one you would run popularity campaigns for? The author that, so far as you’re concerned, everyone should be reading— but that nobody seems to have heard of. You know, not JK Rowling, not Jane Austen, not Hemingway–everybody’s heard of them. The author that you think should be that famous and can’t understand why they’re not…
Off the top of my head, that will be Joseph Delaney, author of The Wardstone Chronicles. Granted, that’s the only thing I know he wrote, but the story and world he has created is very engaging and his exposition is top notch, and this is supposedly catered for just the male young adult audience— and am already an female adult. I love this series so much that this is what I live for waiting for the next release every year, and that I created a fanlisting for them. I am also anticipating the film adaptation and hope that they don’t change it too much.
I am also planning to write a more in-depth review of his books in the near future as a form of evangelization (ha ha) so yeah, I love it that much.
